Dude:

I totally feel for you. Mine did something similar, and now it's fried too.

Oddly, the last time it worked was when my daughter was playing a Shockwave
game on Disney.com. The machine bluescreened and a terrible screeching noise
came from the speakers.

Since then, the box bluescreens when it boots up, mentioning
NTOSKernal.exe/BootVid.dll/irql_not_less_or_equal in different instances. I
swapped out the video card, sound card, all cards, memory, disabled automatic
IRQ assignments, bios updates, etc etc to no avail. Looks like I'll need a new
MB and/or processor.

Just can't afford it right now...

Arg!

Heh .. I had installed an evaluation edition of Win 2k advanced server for the
MCSE classes i was taking and then forgot that's what was on my computer.
Well, the other day a message popped up telling me the evaluation was up and my
computer would shut down in 1 hour. This was not a good thing. So, I set the
date back (I am really suprised that worked) until I can get all of my stuff
backed up so I can reinstall Pro.

Of course, it doesn't make much difference now since my whole computer died
last night. I can't even get it to power on. This sux. I can't afford to be
spending money on broken computer parts right now .. ya know? :(

Hating computers, for a better tomorrow.
