Actually, yes. My father had a hand built clone (not built by me, just passed along).
Whenever the power in his house (Florida, summer) would "brown out", his computer would die. He had to disconnect all the power connectors inside the case, cycle power, turn it off, then reconnect them all, and power on again. We tried _everything_ else.
