Well, not long after sending this message (original) DWMX also started
acting up. So I reformatted the C and partitioned it into 2 drives, one
with win2k pro and the other win2k server. Now to go home tonight and
see how things work after reinstalling everything.

LOL about the kids finding me bald!

Steph,

Did you check your registry and ensure all the crap left over after
uninstalling Studio is gone?

I would uninstall DWMX, clean out your registry.
Then run a registry cleaning utility, because it's good for you. Then
defrag, just because it's good for you, whether you need it or not.
;)
Double check Add/Remove programs for any listing of Studio in there,
just in case.

Then try installing Studio again.
Contact me off-list if that doesn't work.

I know it's a pain, but you'll only tear your hair out and your kids
will come home one day and find you bald because you are trying to use
DWMX for all your development. I know. My hair's just starting to grow
back. <grin>
