I've always thought of declawing as mutilation. If the animal is scratching
at things that badly - its indicative that something's wrong.

I'm not sure about Sugar Gliders and cats mixing well. I'd imagine that the
glider would look too much as prey to the cat. The ferrets and our cat get
along almost OK. The cat mostly ignores the ferrets - except for those times
that the ferrets want to pull a practial joke on the cat. As far as they are
concerned a cold wet nose where the cat is least expecting it is the height
of humour. The cat gets pissed off and then tries to chase the ferret.
Unfortunately she has not learned that she cannot fit underneath the
furniture like the ferrets, so she crashes into the sofa or a chair.\
Its really quite funny to watch.
