This week's economist had an amusing story about how the current mayor who is going for re-election botched his bid for the Democrat primaries. Apparently his campaign workers in getting the necessary 2000 signatures, got 10,000 but with a whole lotta' duds, like Kofi Annan and it was thrown out. So now he can't run as the Democrat mayoral candidate.
A weird situation as he is the hot favorite and literally has no Republican nor Democrat opponents. He also may have to give 1.25M of campaign funds back to the Democrat party. It gets one delegate in the House of Representatives, but has not voting power. And because it has no Congressional representation, the residents there have no presidential vote, as they do not get an Electoral College Delegate.
