It's more greed than stupidity. Consider: Person A doesn't think and
does something stupid. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions,
he sues so he can get a wad of cash.  However, it's not just that guy
who ruins the system - it's the jury that agrees. Then we end up with
stupid warning labels.

Also - do not forget that SOME warning labels are very important. Not
ever case against a product manufacturer is done out of greed. Some very
important changes have come about because of product liability cases.
