oi Critter!!

What I mean when I say 'out of the box' is if the connectors that come with
the product require a lot of java programming before we can get them up and
going. My impression is no, and it sounds like I can just use them as custom
tags to get basic functionality.

Let me ask, do you generate your maps server side or on the client side? As
I understand it, this is the tricky part of an ArcIMS installation.

oi Mike!!

We use ArcIMS with CF for all of our apps. I believe there is one
dll and a series of tags that let
you interact quite nicely with it. We have found that it is
easier to just use a request tag on
several occasions rather than using the custom tags provided by
esri. There is ONE sample CF app
that comes with the installation but it's shite.
ArcIMS itself can be a tad dodgy at times under a heavy load, but
hey at least it restarts itself
when it dies :)

what type of apps do you mean when you say outta the box?

as for the connectors.... register the dll with cfserver and your
good to go.
