Well, I've seen many a keyboard /accidentally/ soaked in water and work fine
when it dried out. I suppose I'd look at it this way -- if my keyboard is
too mucked up to work right, I can either replace it or try to clean it. So
go ahead and try to clean it, because you have nothing to lose.

: Subject: Keyboard renewal recipe

: Hi,
:
: I was told a recipe for cleaning and giving new life to a keyboard that
: sounds a bit crazy but I think it's for real. What do you think?
: The recipe is to get the biggest pot you can find and fill it
: with water and
: bring it to a boil. Then turn the water off and let it cool for a minute.
: Then put your unplugged - repeat unplugged! - keyboard in the water and
: leave it to soak for a half hour or so. Remove the keyboard and
: leave it to
: drain overnight or longer till it is completely dry.
: I think this should work nicely, but the trick might be to time it around
: when you will be away and don't need the keyboard.
