Wait,
Wanting to be able to use the product of your own abilities makes someone a
greedy SOB? Deciding for yourself how to spend your wages, the wages of your sweat
and intellect, is now evil?

I am moving my wife's mother and grand mother into my home. I am raising two
children. Why shouldn't I be able to concentrate all of my resources on that
endeavor? Have you ever read any Ayn Rand? She would call your sentiments looting,
and when done by a government I would be willing to compare it to extortion. A man
with a gun is telling me he will either lock me away or shoot me if I don't give him
my money. William why should people of ability be penalized? Because that's what
your advocating. I have taken the time to start a savings account, we have an IRA at
work and a profit share. I will be able to afford to live without being a burden to
my children, but your saying that if someone else wasn't responsible enough to make
similar arrangements that the rest of us should pay for their retirement?

hehe, more and more, Who is John Galt?

Tim

HAHA thats true Phoeun but you'll learn us americans dont like that crap
we'd rather ship our parents off to a home cause we dont want them cramping
our style.

Though there are people who still do respect and care for parents. Actually
if you read any studies its at a all time high where we have so much of our
potential workforce being a primary caregiver.
There are still some who hold those ideals of carign for your mother. And
when you dont have a job and you have to take care of someone all day i'm
sure the SS check for your parents helps because if you can't take a job
becuase you have to give 24/7 care to a loved one you loose a lot of
potential salary.

So it does work sometimes :) There are those who are greedy and selfish and
say we shouldn't give handouts but I guess they've never been in need or
they have and they got lucky and got a break and got out of it and so they
take a hard stance on that type thing. I'd rather give some of my money to
help others and let it help some then be a greedy SOB who just doesnt give a
flying f$$k about anyone else becuase they are too worried worrying about
their own interests
