MySQL really is a SQL for the web folks sort of implementation.. they are getting there with SQL features... but for the hard nosed DBA, yeah it isn't up to par...
for us folsk to get data wicked fast to the app server and down the pipe, try beating it though... sure a few more steps to assemble your data... its heads up warfare on speed with oracle in tests... and Oracle scorches the pack in testing.. when they actually permit testing... so not a bad right.. I mean the most expensive and least expensive in most comparisons these two are and the top.... ironic... -paris Paris Lundis Founder Areaindex, L.L.C. http://www.areaindex.com http://www.pubcrawler.com 412-292-3135 [finding the future in the past, passing the future in the present] [connecting people, places and things] -----Original Message----- From: Jochem van Dieten <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 04 Nov 2002 22:46:04 +0100 Subject: Re: got a job.. > Paul Ihrig wrote: > > > thanks guys! > > > > on the php & mySql not.. > > > > i am going to need some good books & web sites... > > > > any W.A.C.K. books for php? > > > > and is it just easy to cs type programmers > > or easy for general hacks..
