I thought the same thing about Register.com.

After all this discussion I did a whois on my domain through register.com
and they had hijacked it. Now I'll admit that I haven't actually used it yet
(in two years), but it's mine. I had to call and get it "reactivated". WTF?
When it runs out with them, I seriously think I'll be switching.
