Thanks for the congrats and for all the advice from your friend. I did a fair bit of reading on greyhoud rescue sites all over the globe, and they all pretty much had everything your friend said in one way or another. Also read up on the breed itself. I'm a Virgo and I like to have all my facts straight before a under taking. ;) We considered this for months before we even went to look at one.
We also understood going in that it might be hard to accomplish the cat and dog living gracefully together, but so far she's just been curious, not drooly or fixated ... Though she wants to go check the cat out. Snoopy just seems very cautious and prefers to continue playig it safe by hiding. The place we got her from had quite a few pictures of greys with cats draped all over, so we know it's not an impossibility ... Whether or not Maddy actually makes it remains to be seen. It's understoof that if she doesn't work out, she goes back and we try all over again with another. We're up for the work, and we know the responsibilities ... And since I work from home, I'm able to supervise all day long. I read that they don't like to sit, but once or twice for a treat is nice. ;) >>| From: BethF [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] >>| >>| congratulations, mostly to Maddy for finding a new home. >>| Personally, a dog with a new better life, needs a new name >>| too, so consider giving her a name that you chose for her. >>| >>| racer greyounds never sit, and may never learn to sit - >>| laying down is something they enjoy more! >>| >>| and forgive me for being the bearer of possible bad news - >>| of ALL the dogs in the world greys, especially racer greys, >>| are the hardest to "cat safe".
