hey tim--

i'm still working on an appropriate response -- so much work to do today, 
but you have some good points and i want to continue the discussion flame- 
free :) :)
i do actually agree with a lot of the libertarian philosophy-- most of my 
friends are voting libertarians, but as an anarchist i'm strongly against 
the ability of power to be concentrated in the hands of the few, any few, 
and this is what happens eventually with any large company which is able to 
use it's accrued profits to buy political favors and deluge the media with 
advertising/public relations/propaganda/etc.

i definitely recommend a book called "understanding power" -- it's a 
collection of his talks on a variety of subject.  best collection i think.  
the chomsky reader is good too.  manufacturing consent is a bit dense, but 
the movie based on it is fantastic.
