I can still remember when Wendy O died. Sad day in Storrs, CT. Now there truly is no use for black electricians tape.
As for Stiff Little Fingers, I just picked up a "Best of" retrospective album, and it didn't have "Barbed Wire Love". Did I miss something? Was that decided to have been too commercial, or did no one else like that song? Two other bands from that era that I still listen to daily, although they don't quite fit the above list: XRay Specs and the Tom Robinson Band. I'll have to check out Blitz tonight. They are "new" to me. Jerry Johnson >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 12/23/02 03:25PM >>> While I am heartbroken to hear the news, the Clash is far from the only band that matters. They mattered. The band has been gone for quite a number of years now, and can no longer be spoken about properly in the present tense. Other bands that mattered (in some cases, are still mattering along) include the Angelic Upstarts, Cocksparrer, the Cockney Rejects, Sham 69, Stiff Little Fingers, Blitz, Oi Palloi, the Rezillos, the Buzzcocks, Wire, the Plasmatics and dozens and dozens of other mid-70's - early-80's UK punk bands. If you enjoyed the Clash, you may find some of these interesting as well.
