Interesting but to be honest it's hardly news. I would argue that the centre of politics in the UK certainly, and possibly the rest of Europe, has been shifting to the right for the last decade. Blair's New Labour are hardly left wing, and infact in many ways occupy the precise middle right ground that the Conservatives made their own.
