I wonder how strict they are on a degree? I've had tech jobs before were
they wanted a degree but I had enough real world experience so they didn't
care. And I think we have all worked with that one person who had a degree
but knew nothing of "real" applications because everything they learned was
in a classroom setting.

Sometimes I think that they ask for a degree just to weed out the
"riff-raff" IMHO

Or, it might be these requirements:
A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
A minimum of 4 years experience in web applications development

I don't know many folks doing CF that actually have a degree, and lots of
people I know are right around 3-4 years experience.
