re: the code comments,
Worked once at EDS on an obscure mainframe - Burroughs 4800 running MCP-V OS. Check 
processing application. Program which ran the MICR (magnetic ink)check sorter machines 
had a bold comment box at the top of a dense section of assembler code: "Abandon all 
hope he who changeth code between lines x and y". Nobody new exactly what the code 
did, but you couldn't touch it.

Another funny by an irreverent lead programmer at Del Monte Foods, in the COBOL 
Security paragraph:
Security. Post 2 armed guards.
