This an mpeg1 file? Purple artifacts sounds a lot like some problems mpeg4 codecs like xvid have with certain versions. Maybe the hd on the laptop needs chkdsk /f, and the file got corrupted?
Try running the movie through this program. It can spot some problems, and tell you a bit about the movie. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ If you are using WMP, QT, or Real, I'd recommend a either bsplayer or zplayer. Both free, have more features, and perform better. No spyware either. http://bsplayer.org http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/ -- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Tuesday, March 11, 2003, 3:43:30 PM, you wrote: RC> here is the odd thing.
