I bought myself a 21" Dell P1110 fro about $200. Ultracrips display even at 
1880x1440 (ofcourse you need to have a good video card to achieve this, like a 
ATI radeon or even better a matrox parhelia).

I had a Geforce 4MX, and could not get the display to show things clearly at 
1880x1440. On a Matrox G400 all is super.
