what, so we treat them in a barbaric way? Surely that makes us as bad as
them. That's the problem with 'an eye for an eye'

What?

There is a big difference. First of all, I am not a cowardly member of a
fanatical middle eastern terrorist organization.

Second of all, so what you are saying is we should not punish people for
committing crimes that are against the laws of our land?

If I disagreed with the law, or felt it was unjust then I would do whatever
I could as a citizen to get the laws changed. I do not disagree with the law
that says if you murder your children or anyone else for that matter then
you should be executed.

I think you are confusing my points with the religious idiology of the
islamic interpretaion of the koran.

I am not religious at all. I do however feel that there are certain
boundaries that once crossed by a member of our society, that these people
now become the chaff while the rest of us are the wheat. Once they commit
these crimes (specifically murder) but you could also make a case for rape,
and other serious crimes; then they have chosen by their own actions to be
treated to the punishment that our laws allow.

If you think that people are not barbarians, perhaps you could visit Rwanda?
Or Kosovo, or Iraq or any prison or jail anywhere?

The sad fact of that matter is that most individuals are not barbaric, but
people as a whole are, and that will never change.

So then by advocating what is in essence Sha'ria, (the islamic law) then
what's the moral difference between you and a member of Al Queda? What's
next, stoning because of adultery, requiring women to wear burkas? What you
are advocating is no different.

I am not arguing for or against her, I am saying that if a person is so
psychologically messed up that they cannot tell the difference between
right and wrong, then what is gained by executing her? There is no
punishment, only retribution then. That gives us the moral equivalency of
barbarians.
