In my apt. building, we have almost daily "discussions" between Indian and
Pakistani-born tenants.

They seldom argue about recent events. Normally it is stuff from 100+ years
ago that really gets the blood going.

The "Oh yeah? Well you..."

Of course they, too would agree with you about the British.

At the same time, down in CT where I am originally from, there are sometimes
mean things said about one American Indian tribe working with the British
against another. Which happened in the 1600s. And they still get red-faced
mad about it. Of course their tribe, ancestry and way of life were
completely destroyed, but hey, lighten up already.

The only hatred I have that comes close is the network execs who took
Aerowolf off the air. Canceling that show was a crime against humanity.

see, I think that is the part you aren't seeing. Four generations later, my
problem with your proposal is that the British still have soldiers in
Ireland. It isn't that they used to, it's that they still do :)

But this does not mean I hate the British -- I just think the shouldn't be
in Ireland :) This position is quite possibly not typical however :)
