I am a big fan of Epson, the Print heads are not in the ink cartridges so
they are a little cheaper than the rest.

I have a Photo 960, it has the smallest droplet currently on the market, it
has 7 ink wells, 2 black and then the 5 that Ben mentioned.

As far as photo goes, it is often rated the highest on the market, it does
borderless 4x6 to 8x10 It will print on roll paper and has a built in paper
cutter. It will also print directly to Ink Jet printable CDs.

Because I do photography on the side, it is important for me to have the
highest quality printer, and I looked at a number of different models and
the 960 beat them all. But it is $350, Epson makes a fairly good range of
printers that are less expensive but still print quite well. Take a look at
them.
