Have you tried...oh you can't even see the top menu bar?
It happened to me a few times that I thought windows were automatically
opening maximised...but I could actually grab an edge and reduce the
size..but because it was opened almost full screen I just assumed the
entire window was maximised.

But if you are talking about FULL screen i.e. not even in a window
really....then...well...that could be some issue with the registry?

This only happens with DVDs?
I heard too many bad things about Windows Media Player 9..I avoided
dloading and installing it..although knowing microsoft it might actually
be on my system after some other 'update' or other :)

Okay... I'm am sick and tired of friggin XP and Windows Media Player 9
or whatever is causing my problem.... whenever I view a movie clip it
goes into full screen mode and I can't break out of it unless I restart
my laptop... so I tried the intervideo dvd player that comes and it goes
into full screen mode... everything is set not to go to full screen but
I don't know whats causing this... anyone else had this problem?
