One of those things I can never remember is how to get into safe mode. I am thinking that it may vary by computer manufacturer or possibly OS. Anyway, an acquaintance wants me to help him with a computer that is frozen in an "updating files" screen. He had previously loaded some games -- he said he had run them before (but I guess from CD) --- and the computer gets to this screen and freezes every time. Its a Dell and Me. I tried F4 F6 and F8.... no joy. I am thinking maybe I will try a boot disk if all else fails but can anyone tell me about safe mode? I figure if I can get into DOS or safe mode I will delete the newly installed files and ket hom go from there....
