The foundation is largely responsible for the fact that you can pretty much 
count on being able to get on the internet in any given library now. That's 
a good thing, although it does tend to reinforce the Windows hold on the 
software market.

I remember WordPerfect.... it's that software package people used to buy 
until Word started coming with every computer. It may be as you say that 
Microsoft didn't copy them... it certainly cut the hell out of their market 
share though...
