The interior is a lovely place. Not a lot of tourists compared to Baniff, Jasper or Vancouver etc. Its very rugged with very steep mountains. The Okanagan Valley and Penticton is an excellent place to visit. The area is a valley that's mostly lake (see http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?addtohistory=&country=CA&address=&city=Penticton&state=BC&zipcode=&submit.x=45&submit.y=6) and surrounded by tall mountains. Mild winters and very nice summers. Some pretty good boating and other water sports.
