All the article mentions is "Non-judicial punishment" Unfortunately there were almost as many friendly fire deaths as there were combat related killings.
I still would prefer the place the blame in this case on the coordination between commands rather than some intentional act by the two pilots. This does not minimize the tragedy of Canadians who were lost. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Graeme" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, June 20, 2003 8:43 AM Subject: RE: No charges for 'friendly fire' pilots | Anybody know if they at least had their wings revoked? | | -Kevin | | > -----Original Message----- | > From: Philip Arnold [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | > Sent: Friday, June 20, 2003 8:35 AM | > To: CF-Community | > Subject: RE: No charges for 'friendly fire' pilots | > | > | > > http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/06/19/friendly_fire030619 | > > | > > WASHINGTON - Two U.S. military pilots who bombed Canadian | > soldiers in | > > Afghanistan won't be prosecuted. | > > | > > The decision on whether Majors Harry Schmidt and William | > Umbach will | > > face criminal charges won't be officially announced until late | > > Thursday afternoon | > > | > > -- | > > | > > This sucks.
