I think of blogs as two things: 1. Content management software. Most blogging frameworks allow for quick and easy posting and publishing. They typically handle archiving, RSS generation, formatting, commenting, etc. 2. A mentality. Physically, a blog is nothing more than a simple way to update your website, but it's the mentality behind it that makes a blog a blog. They are typically informal, noncommercial, uncensored and very immediate. Blogs are a good way to get information out to a potentially large audience very quickly. Several of us in community development maintain weblogs to help us communicate with the Macromedia community and disseminate information quickly: http://www.macromedia.com/go/cantrell http://www.macromedia.com/go/mchambers http://www.macromedia.com/go/jdowdell We also aggregate all of Macromedia's weblogs and well over 150 additional weblogs here: http://www.macromedia.com/go/weblogs Not quite the same thing as phonebin.com, but I hope that helps.
