So I go to the doctor for x-rays as the pain in the hip gets worse (in spite of
the exercise which should be re-habbing the muscles).

The xrays show arthritis.
Get referred to the orthopedist.
She says "bone-on-bone contact due to cartilege erosion".

Am told that continuing to stretch, exercise, lose weight, and take glucosamine
might help, as would water exercise.

But, "eventually" will need hip replacement. Not thrilled about the idea.
Although she said that might restore enough freedom of movement and relief of
pain to let me ski again ("just no bumps and jumps" - ha! never did).

Not sure what to do.
Anybody been there/done that?

-Ben
