Most places here ask smoking or Non-Smoking when you walk in the door. The
Big Biscuit is completely non-smoking witch is nice change from the normal
Breakfast dinner types. I hate going to those places (Jim's Family
Restaurant, Betty's, Norma's) the smoke is so thick and all the people are
smoking those cheep generic cigarettes (GPC). Those have to be the worst
smelling cigarettes ever. I used to smoke (Camel Wide Lights) and I can go
to a bar and sit around people with Marlboro or Camels, but light up a GPC
and I can't stand it, Burns my nose.

My since of smell is so much better now. I quit eating at place's because I
could smell the grease or the trash. I can also smell the neighbors smoking
there GPC's on the front porch. Nasty!

Now I do smoke a Cigar (Boulevards) every now and again but only outside and
maybe in a Cigar bar, I sure won't light one in a restaurant. I spent a long
time looking for the right cigar that tasted good and did not offend. The
Boulevards are a nice mild cigar with a light pleasant aroma.

First of all, the way I nomally notice that a restaurant allows smoking is
when someone next to me lights up.

Better restaurants tend to be non-smoking anyway, but there are two within
walking distance of my house that used to allow smoking. I don't know if
they will be necessarily losing profit though; I guess you are assuming
that the smokers just won't go any more. But where *would* they go? I think
that if they want to eat out they will still go to restaurants, but smoke
after they leave, or before they come. And I on the other hand will be more
likely to frequent those restaurants, along, presumably, with the other
non-smokers in the neighborhood.
