Daniel- I am saddened and almost disbelieving reading your post.
Are you allowed to walk up to someone and punch them in the face? No, that's called "assault". What do you call it when someone walks up to me and deposits a brew of harmful chemicals in my face? I am an asthmatic and a cardiac patient. Smoke is harmful to me - not theoretically, it affects my breathing immediately. Why should I have to forego eating at a restaurant so someone else can poison the air there? Yes, it's "legal", because the tobacco industry is too powerful and contributes too much money for the government to ban it. This is not "dislike of smokers". Would you let someone pour a mixture of toxic chemicals into your glass of water in a restaurant? This is the same thing. I have no dislike from people smoking - just not where I have to breathe it!! And bars/restaurants will find MORE business, not less, when the non-smokers go there more often. -Ben > yes, wonderful. god forbid we let business owners make their own decisions > about what legal products are allowed inside their establishment. apparantly > the lowest common denominator in society is too stupid to make value > judgements towards going to restaurants that don't allow smoking by decision > instead of mandate. > > people act as if this is some great panacea to fix their dislike of smokers. > never mind how many bars/restaurants have gone out of business / are losing > large margins due to these laws. > > i'm sick of living in a country that makes tobacco legal, then mandates ban > on it's use. it's completely asinine to force a business owner to lose > profit by gunpoint instead of principal. > > -----Original Message----- > From: William Wheatley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2003 10:34 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: woo hoo > > > today is good day no more smoking in restaurants in fl....ohh my nose is so > happy to know that now! > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Your ad could be here.
