OK, so I had a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist yesterday. Gee, hard to believe it's been over 4 months already.
I got a gold star on my report card. Pulse - great. BP - great. Stethoscope - great. Cholesterol etc. - better than great. Weight loss - great. Exercise program - great, now try to stay motivated <g>. (When I found out I might need a hip replacement, plus am in quite a bit of discomfort if not pain, got a bit bummed and slacked off on the exercise temporarily.) None of the tests showed "significant damage" to the heart - looks like I got treatment quickly enough to have dodged a large caliber bullet! Have had 2 Thallium Stress Tests, Echocardiogram, Holter EKG (24 hour monitor), and a follow-up angiogram. The Thallium test results didn't match my apparent condition, which is why they went back in with the second angiogram, which showed the stent and artery open. Cardiologist's advice: keep up the good work, and try to get the hip in shape so you can enjoy your improved health! More advice: have a wonderful vacation in Oz. AND he said "sure it's OK for you to do an intro (accompanied) scuba dive down to 12 meters at the Great Barrier Reef - bring back photos! He signed off on the medical form from the dive firm! WOO HOO !! Was surprised to find out the cardiologist dives, so he knew what he was talking about! Thank you, God... and my wife, and all my friends. Am feeling very very blessed. :-) :-) :-) -Ben ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Your ad could be here.
