Larry - We're actually getting prescription lenses put in our masks so we can see it !!
Am planning on getting an underwater camera and strobe - previously got an underwater housing for my Canon PowerShot S45 digital, but it didn't work out. Yes, it's waterproof, but almost unusable - the housing's lens barrel blocks part of the optical viewfinder, and it was extremely difficult to see the LCD panel through the housing underwater. Plus, the built-in flash would either reflect off the housing and/or cause "backscatter" (u/w equivalent of redeye), and there was no provision for an external flash or viewfinder. And without the flash it's not good color or lighting. <sigh> suppose I can use it if I ever want to take pictures in rain or snow... What I want to get is a point-and-shoot u/w camera with u/w strobe mounted off- axis to reduce backscatter: http://www.seaandsea.com/ check out the MX-5II and companion YS-20A strobe. Wife surprised me - said I wanted to get it, maybe sell it on eBay after the Oz trip. She said "why not keep it - we can use it in Hawaii". :-) And check out the link (yellow button at upper right) to Kodak Sea Processing - WOW. I understand you can even get them to make cd's :-) -Ben > Fantastic News Ben! > > I'm looking forward to the photos of the Great Barrier Reef. > > larry > > At 04:04 PM 7/8/2003 +0000, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > >OK, so I had a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist yesterday. > >Gee, hard to believe it's been over 4 months already. > > > >I got a gold star on my report card. > > > >Pulse - great. > >BP - great. > >Stethoscope - great. > >Cholesterol etc. - better than great. > >Weight loss - great. > >Exercise program - great, now try to stay motivated <g>. > >(When I found out I might need a hip replacement, plus > >am in quite a bit of discomfort if not pain, got a bit > >bummed and slacked off on the exercise temporarily.) > > > >None of the tests showed "significant damage" to the heart - > >looks like I got treatment quickly enough to have dodged a > >large caliber bullet! > > > >Have had 2 Thallium Stress Tests, Echocardiogram, Holter EKG > >(24 hour monitor), and a follow-up angiogram.
