I always found Boston a very over priced city to live in. It's getting to
be like Cali in cost of living. Not quite as high, but getting there. Also
the Big Dig will be messing with that city's traffic for years to come.

Burlington, Woburn, Cambridge, and the inner city are good "tech mecas". A
lot of defense contracting and engineering jobs in that area more than tech
in my opinion.

just my 2 cents

Matt

I'm a seasoned developer with 9 yrs experience. I'm looking to move to
Boston within the next 2 years or so; Back Bay or Beacon Hill?!?

I've heard that Welmouth (?) is the technology meca there. Is that
true?

I suppose it's about the same as everywhere... a decent amount of short
term work, but nobody seems to be hiring perms much.

There is a recently reprised CF Users Group in Boston - you might want
to try to attend a meeting: http://www.cfugboston.com/index.cfm

Are you looking to move here, live here now or are graduating soon?
