When my kids started asking questions, I said I would tell them anything in general they wanted to know, but not anything specific about Mommy and Daddy, because that was private - not wrong, just private.
My son (forget at what age) said he had seen a copy of Playboy at a friend's house, did I know about the magazine? Said I had a couple of boxes of old ones in the attic, and he was welcome to look through them if he kept them away from his mom and sister. Told him that a lot of boys and men enjoy looking at pictures of women, but most girls and women don't. We've always treated sex as a normal part of life, but something private - like you don't walk down the street naked. Seems to have worked. -Ben > Well, my theory, which seems to be working so far for my kids, is that they > *won't* worry about it unless you go around hiding the covers to these > magazines... then they will wonder what is on them, and find out, and be > interested in them because they are "for grownups" > > Dana > > Kevin Schmidt writes: > > > >Well, Hustler and Playboy don't put that stuff on the cover do they? > > >Personally, I believe that when it comes to sex ignorance is dangerous. > > > > But, at what age do we need to expose children to this?
