AFA IQ tests go...
The do measure some things reasonably accurately. That is, they are a
fairly accurate test of things like visualization skills, mathematical
reasoning, etc. However, they don't measure a person's "intelligence"
overall very well.
I tend to score well on IQ tests (I was tested thoroughly as a child because
I was "gifted") because I am strong in those skills and because I'm a very
good test taker. However, I'm very bad at things like understanding social
orders and pressures. They just don't work well in my brain.
Of course, now we're getting into the problem of questions with "right
answers" vs questions that are highly debatable and opinionated, and how to
test the kinds of intelligence that deal with the latter.
