Technically speaking, the types of bananas that you think about when you think of bananas, don't have seeds. They are grown by taking parts of an existing plant and letting them grow into a new individual plant. All banana plants are basically the same plant. Scientists are a little worried about them because there is no genetic diversity and all it would take to wipe out the banana industry is some new "banana disease". So, yet another thing that makes them different from the rest ;)
