OK, sorry for forwarding the Dave Ross columns, but I *LIKE* his satire!! Hear him on CBS radio every afternoon.
What should you do with all the money from your share of the Bush tax cut?? Jul 16, 2003 BUDGET LETTER Another actual e-mail. Dear Dave, My employer has just reworked our withholding ... from the Presidents big tax cut... I don't know which I should do first. Would it be better if I started up my own company or [bought] a new yacht? While a new company would [provide] jobs and all that, a new boat would provide immediate stimulus to a troubled economy. I am unable to do both because I will only be getting about $26.00 more a month. Please advise. Daniel in Tacoma Well Daniel, yours is a dilemma that we all face: the Yacht, or the Company. Now, a yacht provides a gentle rocking motion which helps you get to sleep no matter how big the federal deficit gets. But there IS something to be said for starting the company, as long as it's the RIGHT company, such as a company that specializes in building barracks in desert climates. The commute is kind of a bummer, with the gunfire and all, but with your own company, you can give yourself a generous retirement plan, which you may need, since we're financing that deficit with money from the Social Security fund, which means a future Generation X Congress will probably decide that only slackers retire in their sixties, and real men don't retire until well into their nineties. On the other hand the yacht might help there too, because at least you could sail up to Canada on the weekends to buy your heart medicine, and then down to Mexico to get a really cheap restaurant meal. So my advice is, take your $26 and go ahead and start a company ... that builds yachts... for the troops in Iraq! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Your ad could be here.
