Personally I just really hate noisy web sites.  Especially those that are
noisy right off the bat with no warning.

I have yet to be convinced of the utility of any animated introductions
(although I suppose some exceptions could be made for entertainment sites).
If people like them, fine no harm except some time lost but there's also no
real benefit.  If people don't like them then you've made an instant bad
impression.

It just seems like there's more to lose than to gain.

All that being said, viewing the animation alone I did like it.  The only
part I'd lose is the "explosion" - it doesn't seem to fit (to me).  The rest
of the motion and audio worked well, I thought.

However I would still rather see the same animation (perhaps without sound)
take place on the main intro page rather than delay me from seeing it.
