I have found focus groups to be best at fuzzy feeling definition. For example, here are some questions I like to get out of the focus group.
Did you like it (simple yes/no) What company is this site for? What do they sell? How can you buy it? How can you pay? Did the site teach you anything you didn't know? List 3 things you like about the site List 3 things you hate about the site What was your favorite page. Why? Was the tone/editorial style to your liking? Did it match your feeling about the company/products? Was the design/graphic layout to your liking? Did it match your feeling about the company/products? What would you change and why? But remember: Focus groups are not usability tests. They are different things conducted very differently by different people. Did you find it helpful in determining issues with usability and functionality? I'm trying to think of things that I'd want to find out from this and came up with: What problems with navigation and organization exist? How people feel about the overall design? What things would make them like the site more? What would make them use it more often? What problems in experience do our users have? Can anyone else thing of some questions or items I should be looking to discover? Candace K.
