that would be ideal of course but ultimately this guy is a manager. It is possible to be a good manager and improperly use "which"... that is why there are spellcheckers, grammar checkers and secretaries. Of course, he may also be a fool who has a poor grasp of grammar... but not passing that test doesnt prove it to me.
