I hope you arent including me in that blanket statement.

But the issue of licensing parents, while it sounds like it is a good idea,
has troubling implications. Do you deny the license to people who believe
in spanking? (Current parenting theory says it is useless and probably
harmful) What about people who believe in... patriarchy? Polygamy?
Consequences for bad behavior? Parenting is about values and it edges up to
religious beliefs.... I worry that next thing you know we would be checking
for Christian values.

And here is another issue... what about the practicing catholic whose
religious beliefs preclude the use of birth control? You are going to put
them in jail for following papal edits?
