Do something whacky. For one of my earlier anniversaries (coming up on 10 now) I bought a bunch of red baloons and inflated them all. Then I made a giant heart on our bedroom wall with them and sent her flowers at work. I had the door shut, and when she got home she was suprised again by the room.
