Ian - First off, Linksys does offer excellent technical support on their products. I have had issues over the past year they have come through for me every time.
The advice they always start with is to change the SSID channel and then to upgrade the firmware. You should try setting the channel to 1 and then work up the ladder until you find something that works consistently. If you can't find a good channel, upgrade the drivers and firmware.
