It's not a big deal, and without a service to do it, the phrase becomes 
"No money is spent" - we paid maybe $400 - $500 for the diapers and 
acoutrements (pails, cloth wipes, liners) two and a half years ago and 
with the exception of disposables for trips, have had a monstrous return 
on our investment - the only downside being the extra time doing 
laundry, but that's only maybe another 20 minutes a day. 

We figured the cost of buying diapers for us since May 2001 (had we only 
used paper) would be somewhere in the $3,000 range, give or take.  Not 
too bad so far.
