I'll admit that I wasn't impressed by the author's knowledge, but the site had the pretty graphs. Keep an eye on the Anandtech site. They've got something up now mentioning the discrepancy, and they're working on their own tests. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1862
>From what I gather Valve is saying, and even what that Carmack plan says, is that in order to get optimal performance out of the nvidia cards, developers have to write to the proprietary paths. And they're not happy about that. I'm sitting here with an nvidia card too, and I would like to play the game well. I'll obviously wait until the game is out to see the real results, but I'm considering an ATI. Have been for a while, but I don't upgrade until I just can't play a game at all. On the up side, the 9600 Pro is down to about $150 now and I hear a new ATI card should be out before xmas. -Kevin ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 10:56 PM Subject: Re: Nvidia can't compete on HalfLife 2 > Wow...a straightforward rehash of the full precision strawman.
