His take on "Personal Jesus" is haunting. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Depeche Mode's original sounds much like an indictment, a middle finger in the face of easily digestible faith and the machinery behind it. When Cash sang it it sounded like a dirge - kind of a fading, lonely hymn. I was stunned - what an amazing artist.
