Sounds like you made a good move!

Tell me about the house prices over here, they're incredable.  Thank god I
bought  nearly 6 years ago.  Virtually doubled since then

We moved just over 2 weeks ago now <g>

Advantages?
HUGE house for less than the price of the house we had in Croydon (we
rent at the moment) - about 2.5 times the size
Petrol is CHEAP over here (paid $1.22 per gallon a couple of days ago,
that works out at about 80p, rather than 80p per litre - a US gallon is
3.875 litres...
Electronics are cheaper here (just paid about 1,000 for a 51" rear
projection HDTV widescreen model <g>)
Films and TV shows before the UK (American ones anyways)
BIG portions of food, for hardly any money
Fantastic CF based community in Atlanta

Drawbacks?
We're in the ass end of nowhere - the nearest public transport is a good
2 miles from the house
What little public transport we have is few and far between
We had to buy all-new again for most stuff
We had to sell our beloved Explorer
Some things are more expensive (electric, gas, phone, other amenities)
Pets are stressed after the move
We're now nowhere near our old friends
The hours we now keep to work with our UK clients and our US ones :-P

Overall, I'm glad we came over - even though Erika wanted to see a lot
more of England and Europe - we'll get back there shortly to do more
trips
