Good luck on the surgery! People I know who've gotten it done have been
grateful for it.

re: sleep apnea and snoring (discussed a while back): after losing 40 lbs,
I'm told I no longer snore.

Subject: Not depression, just pain - with hope, though

> Those of you who have known me on the list for a while realize I try very
hard to keep a positive, cheerful attitude. I'm also an irrepressible
punster with a very dirty mind ;-)
>
> My attitude has gotten even more positive after surviving a major heart
attack last Feb. and being a lot healthier than before it, except for the
arthritis in the left hip. Compared to people with incurable diseases, or
who die, I'm very blessed to be here and only limping around in pain.
>
> This morning, I just need to vent a little bit, and say "DAMMIT, IT
HURTS!" I refuse to take anything stronger than Tylenol or Motrin, and them
only when really needed - don't want either addiction nor kidney/liver
problems.
>
> Finally overcame the trepidation, and mailed a letter to the orthopedic
surgeon asking to get on the schedule for a hip replacement - said I want my
quality of life back (including quality of sex life <ha>). Also sent dr a
form for the handicapped parking placard - hey, I am !!
>
> Am amazed that I'm not depressed about going through layers of medical
care for asthma, low thyroid, sleep apnea, cardiac, now hip. Just glad I'm
not DEAD, still have a loving wife, a decent job, and a future - even a
better one when I get rid of the pain.
>
> But today I'm grumbling a little bit.

> thanks for letting me vent.
