perfect ending (I thought) would have been him waking up on that road in
his pajamas.
I don't know if you saw the DVD, but it also struck me how much better
the movie would have been if some of the deleted scenes had been left
in.

What did you think? I know the movie certainly made ME think ;-)
It isn't straightforward, and although it may be one of those films
where the writer and director make things sufficiently convoluted that
the audience really isn't supposed to figure out what's going on
(because they aren't given enough/correct info to come to the single
correct conclusion) it is still quite thought provoking.
A neat film to add to titles such as Vanilla Sky, Equilibrium and the
Matrix series.
